Una de las figuras más emblemáticas de Id Software y padre de clásicos como Quake o Doom, John Carmack, ha declarado que en el estudio están barajando la posibilidad de regresar a los orígenes con el lanzamiento de Quake V.
“Fuimos al universo Strogg en Quake II y Quake IV. Estamos mirando las posibilidades de volver al mundo del original, más bizarro y mezclado con el universo Cthulhu”, explica Carmack, quien no dudaría en “reiniciar” la serie en esa dirección.
“Pensamos que podría ser una dirección más interesante que seguir con los Strogg después de Quake IV. Ciertamente tenemos varias facciones dentro del equipo de desarrollo que quieren hacer esto”, remarca el creativo.
En la misma línea de preservar la serie se mueve otro de los responsables del estudio, Todd Hollenshead, que ha afirmado que “nadie debería preocuparse de que vayamos a dejar huérfano o abandonar Quake. Somos unos grandes seguidores del juego dentro del equipo”, añade.
El proyecto más inminente de Id Software se trata del ambicioso Rage para PC, Xbox 360 y PlayStation 3 que se estrenará en septiembre del presente año.
