La compañía Compile Heart, creadores de las dos primeras entregas de Hyperdimension Neptunia que han obtenido un estupendo éxito en Japón, han anunciado que en el 2012 tendremos más entregas de esta serie.
Desde siliconera podemos leer las palabras de Damien Urvois de Compile:
El próximo año será el año de Neptunia.
Los primeros rumores nos hablan de una versión para vita y una tercera entrega que completará la trilogía. Para los que desconocemos por completo estas entregas, la historia de Neptunia nos sitúa en el universo de Geimugyokai (industria de los videojuegos), en el que se relata cuatro historias de diferentes diosas que en realidad son espíritus de videoconsolas: Lasdition será la de PS3 (corazón negro), Rinbox será el de Xbox 360 (Corazón verde) y Ruwii será el de Wii (Corazón blanco), mientras que Neptune, el que da el nombre al videojuego, se trata de una combinación de las consolas de SEGA como un prototipo de MegaDrive y 32x. El enemigo en este título representa a uno de los sistemas de piratería de Nintendo DS, más en concreto las tarjetas pirata.
